Like most everyone else alive when the attacks on our country began on September 11,2001 I will never forget what I was doing.I was here (KGFM) doing the show with my co-host at the time Doug DeRoo when one of the board operators came around the corner and said a plane had crashed into a building in New York.Eventually we stopped playing music and just let you call in....all day. The day is truly a blur except I remember crying alot.I also remember driving home and watching the faces of people in the cars next to me.Everything seemed so quiet,I was scared....WE CAN NEVER FORGET!!!!!
Not alot of "labor" going on this weekend.For the first time in a long time I didn't have to work the holiday.With zero dollars to our name we just did the weekend on the "cheap".That means other people fed and gave us free entertainment(Thank you Dr.Vip and Jodi Dev, Jennifer & my soccer girl Ky)... Being broke bites..I wouldn't recommend it. Thank God for good friends and family(love ya Bob and Nancy). I've been guilty of texting while driving.I've done it for two reasons. The first being that it is my chosen form of communication with work (which is who I'm always on the phone with) and secondly..I can do it without looking.Neither of those reasons is an excuse and yes,I know it is illegal.I won't be doing it anymore,this PSA will show why.. There is alot of debate going on about whether this is an appropriate video for teenagers to see about the dangers of texting and driving. I say "Hell yes,it's appropriate". Take it from someone who slammed head on into another car on Truxtun extension the first day of my senior year 1992.The reason? I was fast forwarding my Garth Brooks tape and started veering into the lake.I wasn't paying attention..over corrected and slammed into a woman heading in the opposite direction.I injured her and myself.This video reminded me of something I had forgotten.Take your eyes off the road for two seconds and you could be gone forever.
