When I was a little girl my mom and step-dad used to take Dustin and I out to the Hart Park with their friends while they would "set sail" for a day of "tubing" down the river. At 8 years old I already knew the reputation of the "Killer Kern". As a matter of fact, one of the friends who always stayed on the shore and watched us did so because her own brother had died in that river.Nonetheless it's still a huge attraction for locals and out of towners. However, as much as it's publicized that DYING IS A REAL POSSIBILITY if you get in,people still do..everyday.The river has swallowed four people in the past two weeks and I'm sure there will be more before summer is over.So am I the only person who no longer feels sorry for the people who drown? It's not like they weren't warned.Ugh
