"It's always easier to leave, than be left"...Dave Matthews (on the passing of one of the founding members of his band)

Leroi Moore 1961-2008

If you have listened to the D&R show for any length of time you know that there is no other artist on this earth that I love listening to more than Dave Matthews. Some artists come close, but Dave takes the cake.I simply love him.I fell in love with his music after first hearing it while driving in San Luis Obispo near Cuesta college one evening and Crash came on the radio. The following week I went to lunch with our radio station owner's nephew who was working here at the time.He had a sort of "mix tape" of DMB's songs because Dave had actually played at his college before becoming uber famous. It was that short drive to the Garden Spot that cemented my love for Dave for all eternity!!I was supposed to go to Dave's concert last night in Los Angeles but due to some family issues I had to sell my front section tickets at the last minute. While I am glad to have made the sacrifice,I am sad to write that one of the founding members of the DMB died yesterday just four hours before the show.LeRoi Moore wasn't just a bandmate,he was also one of Dave's best friends. Moore was seriously injured in an ATV accident at the end of June and sadly died yesterday due to complications from that wreck.Moore was only in L.A. to undergo extensive rehabilitation at a medical center that specializes in helping people with injuries like the one's he had sustained. The link below is Dave talking to the crowd at last nights Staple's center concert after the band played the song "Bartender". The DMB remains in Los Angeles and will play another concert tonight.

Hello Guru, what entice you to post an article. This article was extremely interesting, especially since I was searching for thoughts on this subject last Thursday.
