911 had to be called out to my step-daughters second grade class a few days ago on account of,well...my step-daughter.Kylee and her little friends were playing the old school board game Hi-Ho Cherry-O (see pic to right).The kids thought it would be great fun to throw the plastic cherry game pieces into the air and catch them with their wide-open mouths.Kylee's mouth was so wide open as was her throat that her cherry went in and down..all the way down.
This is why the school called 911.As it turns out the cherry didn't block her air passage so she didn't choke.Unless you count the tears,she tried not to cry upon seeing her mom arrive at the school along with firefighters and paramedics.In the end,her mom took her to urgent care and an x-ray showed that the cherry was in her stomach and would have to come out on it's own.I'm sure it's not necessary to write about it's passage..
