I wonder how the drug dealers who abandoned their Ecstasy filled van explained to their bosses that those 260-thousand pills they were supposed to sell, ended up in the hands of Kern County law enforcement officials.
Dustin and I got an anonymous call this morning that the story being reported by alot of local news sources isn't totally factual. Then again the caller was anonymous.....
Some sources say that there was a van blocking someone's driveway in Lebec so the CHP was called and it was towed. That version of the story goes on to say that authorities then got a tip that the towed van may have a bunch of drugs in it,so officers went to the tow yard and found what amounted to be a record amount of the drug.
What actually happened ,according to our anonymous source was this: The 2003 Dodge Caravan was found abandoned on the freeway with part of it's roof ripped off. Upon closer inspection officers found some duffel bags filled with drugs. After getting the van towed, they went through the whole thing and discovered the huge amount of pills as well as 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine. In total, the drugs were worth about $3 million on the street.
While the people or person who abandoned the van on the freeway would surely get a prison sentence if caught, there is no doubt in my mind that whatever punishment their drug "boss" hands out would make a jail stay seem like ecstasy.
